Wilbury is an architect-designed, 5 bedroom house that comfortably sleeps nine adults. Built 20 years ago on the edge of Bodmin Moor in Cornwall, it is located in its own spacious garden on a quiet country lane just off the A30. It is conveniently positioned half-way between the surfing beaches of the north coast and the gentler bays of the south, only 15 minutes drive from the Eden Project and five minutes from Bodmin Parkway station on the main line from London to Penzance.

The house has a large, fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher; utility room with washing machine; dining room, lounge and conservatory, one en-suite bathroom, one family bathroom (both with separate showers) and a ground-floor cloakroom.

In addition to Wilbury’s own grounds and facilities which includes unrestricted, driveway parking for up to six cars, there is unlimited access to three floodlit tennis courts and swimming pool at next-door Sunnybanks Farm.

Nearby attractions include:

• Lanhydrock House, one of the jewels in the National Trust’s crown, less than five minutes by car (http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-vh/w-visits/w-findaplace/w-lanhydrock/);
• Cardinham Woods, a ten-minute walk away, offering several hundred acres of fascinating woodland with way-marked walks and cycle trails (http://www.forestry.gov.uk/website/recreation.nsf/LUWebDocsByKey/EnglandCornwallNoForestCardinham);
• The Bodmin and Wenford Railway passing along the property’s southern boundary; take a 13 mile round trip on the steam trains or just sit and wave to the passengers from the front garden as the train slowly powers its way up the hill to Bodmin General Station (http://www.bodminandwenfordrailway.co.uk/);
• The Camel Trail, a well maintained and gently graded 17 mile cycle and footpath running from Bodmin to Wadebridge and on to Padstow along the former railway line with spectacular views of the Camel estuary.

Wilbury is available to rent for anything from a single weekend upwards; prices vary according to length of stay, number of people and time of year.  As examples, a low season, three-night stay for 6 people could cost as little as £160; nine people staying for a week in July or August would pay between £928 and £1,152; six people for a week over the May Day bank holiday would pay £423. For Christmas and New Year, the weekly rate is £952. There are no extra charges for central heating or electricity. The first basket of logs for the wood-burning stove is free; a small charge is made for further baskets.
